Week 1
The out put for week one is the unnamed object to the right, consisting of a switch attached to the bottom of a plastic paint cup. This setup can produce two sounds, one in which the switch is pulling and pushed on, utilizing the flexibility of the plastic. The other sound is a boosting of the sound the switch makes in normal use.
These sounds both utilize the acoustic cavity of the cup to create a “magnified” mechanical sound

My idea for the final instrument is a board setup with different types of switches mounted to different materials, all producing unique acoustic reverb. My inspiration is mostly sampling decks or drum pads.
Week 3
For week 3, I got stuck on the idea of the switch as the integral part of the final instrument, and thereby was trying to make it work. When I realized that I had no excitement about using a switch, but still was interested in the acoustic nature of different materials, I decided to look for further inspiration.
The video to the right inspired me to use solenoids to automatically hit the different materials, according to a code or song.
