This project was the start and the thesis for my connections series. The form of a simple shelf, bound almost arbitrarily by a brightly colored strap. This strap was where the focus is meant to be directed however, as it is the straps compression on the shelf that seemingly holds it together. This overly emphasized effort to stabilize the structure of the shelf was my effort at depicting the amount of pressure we put on holding ourselves together, when we are solid without it.
